Driving social and economic development
Throughout 2023, National Voices worked with partners to capture learning from Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) who are progressing work on a key ICS objective to help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
Recognising the central role of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in social and economic development, the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) and National Voices led the learning capture exercise. Over the course of the project, we worked alongside our members, the NHS, local government and VCSE partners in systems to understand more about what they are doing on social and economic development in practice, how they are making it happen, and what is helping along the way.
Practical learning and tools for integrated care systems
The result of this work is Systems for Change. These sets of learnings provide ICSs and their partners with information about the topic, common approaches for making progress and the experience of the ICSs involved in the learning capture. It also provides links to case studies, practical tools and further resources. The learnings highlight the central role of the VCSE sector in social and economic development, and the importance of recognising, partnering with, and enabling the work of people and organisations across and within all communities for success.
We believe this work will support broader social and economic development, and accelerate learning across all ICSs.
